Woodfield Development

Infrastructure & Community Planning

Woodfield Development’s 505 Courtland project infused investment into an in-town Atlanta neighborhood that had been relatively stagnant for generations.

The project, a 16-story, $87 million multifamily development, added 280 dwelling units to the community as it emerged as an important business and housing sector, bringing good jobs and in-city living to downtown Atlanta.

Woodfield tapped Malaika Rivers to help develop and pursue the strategy to stabilize the area and community. She advocated for better-connected infrastructure and developed a coalition with other like-minded commercial real estate investors to leverage voices and advocate for needs.

Malaika helped secure $5 million in city funding for bike lanes and sidewalks to ensure a better-connected environment. This achieved a 50:1 ROI for the company.
