Karl Kalbacher is President of Kalbacher Associates and a Collaborator with Pontem Resources. Karl manages the highly successful Grant Practice Group, securing more than $ 1.55 billion in federal grants and below-market fixed-rate loans for clients since 2015.

Karl’s grant experience is significant, spanning agencies such as US DOT, DOJ, DOC, DOE, DOD, DOL, HUD, DHS, USDA, EDA, and EPA. Karl's breadth includes infrastructure, economic development, environment, community development, and public safety.

A nationally recognized Brownfields redevelopment expert, Karl is a Professional Geologist who has developed and managed environmental cooperative agreements and finance programs. His experience extends to brownfield, economic development, energy conservation, and sustainability programs at the state and federal levels.

When Karl isn’t penning winning grant applications, he’s pursuing his love of geology, be it rocky terrains or steamy lava fields.
